Hey Mom, have questions about Homeschooling? Here’s what other moms had to say.

What part of homeschooling feels the most discouraging?

Its discouraging that everything has to be on Facebook. We miss out on things because I don’t have Facebook and no desire to have one.

I also wish that most everything was done in a way other than facebook. I don't have it, don't want it, etc. and that leaves so many people out of helpful things. I actually did not rejoin a homeschool group because they went strictly to facebook for every last thing regarding the group. They didn't care that there were families that didn't use it. Another discouragement is when the kids don't feel excited to do their work, or just don't do it at all.

The most discouraging part of homeschooling for my family is when so much of the social contacts and/or event announcements are conducted on media such as Facebook. We do not use social media for various reasons. Everywhere we go we are asked to provide email addresses, so we do not think it unreasonable to expect to be able to conduct homeschool affairs via email as well. When other homeschoolers restrict their communications to FB only, they do so to the neglect of my family and many others like us who are not on FB.

You’re not alone.

No matter where you find yourself in the homeschooling journey, we’ve created a community of women who have varying experiences but one united goal: making homeschooling possible.
