Hey Mom, have questions about Homeschooling? Here’s what other moms had to say.

What is the hardest part of choosing curriculum?

30% Too many options

0% Not enough options

19% Unsure if it's worth the investment

52% Finding the right mix for my kids' unique needs

Haha 0% for not enough options! I voted the last one - the right mix - but too many options was a close second. It would be SO AWESOME if there were one program that really did include EVERYTHING (yes math too) and that told you what to do each day. Unfortunately I think That’s a fairy tale. I’ve wound up making up most of my kids’ curriculum. Thankfully God equipped me, though it took time. At first I panicked and bought a bunch of useless stuff before I figured out what I was doing. If I could give someone else advice, I’d say go with free online curriculum like easy peasy and then start to modify it for your needs. Eventually you’ll figure it out and be able to make your own curriculum.

Every year I drive myself crazy looking for the "perfect" curriculum and find myself full of self doubt. Trying to find secular curriculum that isn't common core can drive me crazy!
